The conference venue is the
Hotel Imperiale - Taormina.
Location
Taormina, located on the northeastern coast of
Sicily, shares importance
with other historical Sicilian cities like Syracuse, Messina and Catania. It
is perhaps the most popular of tourist destinations in Sicily, noted both
for its natural beauty and its art treasures.
Taormina offers so much to see and do. While touring ancient ruins, you
can also book a tour of the nearby Capo Sant'Andrea grottos or visit the
Isola Bella (beautiful island), known as
the “Pearl of the Ionian”. Isola Bella is protected by the World Wildlife
Federation, and is a designated Nature Preserve.
Taormina is close to
Mount Etna,
Europe's largest active volcano which makes it an unforgettable area to tour. As amazing as it is during the
day, it gets enchanting at night when it is an illuminated wonder.

By Car
Taormina can be
reached via highways (autostrade) from Messina and
Catania.
By Train or Bus

to and from
Messina and
Catania.
However the station (called Taormina-Giardini) is at the bottom

the centre straight to or from your destination.
By Plane
The
closest airport is
Fontanarossa International Airport, located in Catania,
about 50 km (31 miles) south.
At
Catania airport taxis and

Never shall I forget the sensation of our arrival in
Sicily. The sky was the bluest of blues; on one side of the train the
sea was sparkling, to the other were mountains, and orange and lemon
groves. The sun was dazzling. It was
hot.
